According to the department, the closure is necessary to construct a drainage ditch and pour concrete on the road surface in order to meet the required technical standards. Since the road is very narrow, the temporary closure is essential to ensure that the construction work follows the design, is completed on schedule, and guarantees the safety of the public.
The Department of Public Works and Transport has requested the cooperation of all government offices, international organizations, officials, military personnel, police, businesses, residents, and the general public in Vientiane who may be affected by this closure.
During the construction period, motorists are advised to use alternative routes, particularly the under-railway road designated for heavy trucks. Residents in the area are also urged to drive carefully, follow traffic signs, and comply with the instructions of officers on duty.
The department emphasized that this measure is temporary and aims to ensure safe and efficient road conditions once the work is completed.
