Lao and Russian Prosecutors Sign Memorandum of Cooperation for 2025–2026

KPL The Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor of the Lao PDR and the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU), establishing a framework for joint activities to be implemented during the years 2025 and 2026.

(KPL)The Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor of the Lao PDR and the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU), establishing a framework for joint activities to be implemented during the years 2025 and 2026.

The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Xaysana Khotphouthone, President of the Office of the Supreme People’s Prosecutor of the Lao PDR, and Mr. Igor Viktorovich Krasnov, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. The agreement reaffirms the shared commitment of both countries to enhancing prosecutorial collaboration and deepening mutual understanding in the field of legal affairs.

As outlined in the MoU, the two sides will convene at least one official meeting annually and engage in the regular exchange of professional and scientific documents. These exchanges will include foundational legal and prosecutorial materials aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, promoting legal reform, and supporting the rule of law in both countries.

The signing of this MoU marks another step forward in the growing partnership between the Lao PDR and the Russian Federation in the realm of justice and legal cooperation.
