(KPL/Prensa Latina) Finance ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) will meet in Canada on Wednesday to promote actions for the stability of the global economic system, marked by Donald Trump's Government trade war.

Canada’s Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne underscored, “Our role is to bring back stability and growth. I would say those are the two leading objectives” of the meeting.

Champagne told reporters that the event is an opportunity to discuss non-market-based practices, capacity, growth policies, fighting financial crime, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and how the G7 can work together amid today’s challenges.

The finance chiefs of the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Canada, comprising the G7, will meet in Banff National Park until Thursday and address the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

Authorities from international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko are attending the event.

The meeting in Banff is a prelude to the G7 leaders’ summit to be held in Kananaskis, Alberta, in June.
