(KPL) A delegation of 32 Lao students is set to travel to Japan to participate in the “Agriculture Exchange” and “Energy Exchange” programs, part of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS).

This initiative, supported by the Japanese Government, aims to foster mutual understanding and trust between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region while laying the groundwork for future cooperation and friendship.

The two programs are specifically designed for Lao students and are focused on enhancing human resources development in agriculture and energy sectors to support sustainable development in the Lao PDR. The students, selected in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Sports, will spend eight days in Japan. During their visit, they will tour relevant facilities, engage in cultural exchange activities, and participate in workshops with local communities.

Additionally, the students will document and share their experiences via social networking services (SNS), offering insights to a wider audience both during their stay and after returning to Laos.

Since its establishment in 2007, JENESYS has facilitated exchanges for over 2,300 young Lao people, strengthening ties between Japan and the Lao PDR. This continued program is expected to promote long-term mutual understanding and solidify the foundations for future cooperation between the two nations.
