Dozens of earthquakes reported in northwestern Laos

KPL (KPL) Up to 33 earthquakes were reported between early morning and afternoon of November 21, according to the announcement of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

(KPL) Up to 33 earthquakes were reported between early morning and afternoon of November 21, according to the announcement of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The strongest earthquakes of the day measured 6.4 on Richter scale at 6.50 am, 5.9 at 4.03 am, 4.8 at 8.00 am, 4.1 at 2.00 pm, 3.6 at 10.36 am. All earthquakes were reported in Hongsa district.

The disaster has triggered an immediate suspension to the power generation of Hongsa Power Company’s thermal power plant which is located in the same district. 

People in Xaysathan district had to flee their houses and stay in open spaces as their afraid that they would get injured if they stay in their houses.
