(KPL) China is a good development and cooperation partner for Lao PDR in term of energy and mining development, Minister of Energy and Mining, Mr Khammany Inthirath noted while giving an interview to China’s CCTV, CRI correspondents and Lao media in Vientiane Capital on Nov 7.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) General Secretary Xi Jinping has a planned visit to the Lao PDR on Nov 13-14.

“The visit to Laos by President Xi Jinping is a significant and meaningful landmark for the cooperation and strengthening the traditional solidarity, and the long, stable and lasting strategic partnership between the two countries Laos and China,” said Mr Khammany Inthirath.

“As we know that, China is a strong economy, many technicians have broad knowledge of development, business administration and extensive experience in operating investment projects,” said Mr Khammany.

Lao media currently focus on their preparation for the coming visit of the Chinese state leader providing information related to the visit and China to ensure Lao people are well informed, according to Director General of Lao News Agency KPL Sounthone Khanthavong.

“The coming visit will represent the mutual trust and understanding and mutual assistance and support and strengthen the traditional relations and strategic partnership in line with the so-called four-good principle which constitutes the best thing reaffirming the inspirations of the Lao and Chinese people,” the director general said in an interview to CCTV correspondent Tang Xin on Tuesday.

The Director General noted the eagerness of Lao media to cover coming visit of the Chinese President and their reporting of China related events.

He highly valued the Chinese President’s planned visit to Laos and expressed his belief that the visit will result in several major things benefiting the development in the two countries and asked the Chinese media to disseminate information on Laos to make more Chinese visitors keen to visit Laos as the country has just launched Visit Laos Year 2018.
