(KPL) The Lao-Viet Expo 2017 will be held at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre (Lao-ITECC) in Vientiane Capital from Jun 29 to Jul 7.

The expo aims to mark the special solidarity between the two countries of Laos and Vietnam in preparation for the celebration of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty, the General Director of International Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Somvang Ninthavong said at a press conference on June 22.

He said that the expo is also to promote bilateral trade and investment between Laos and Vietnam and is an opportunity for business operators in both countries to negotiate future trade cooperation, share business information on trade, investment and enterprises, and promote the existing cooperation on economy and trade in the public and private sectors.

This year, there will be varieties of products on display at the event including, handicrafts, processed foods, consumer goods, agro-forestry products, furniture and others products.

The event will also have a special art performance  a Lao and Vietnamese singing contest for children. It will also provide a free health check-up service.
