(KPL) The President’s Office yesterday held a lecture highlighting the two landmark events in the history of the country including the 60th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (22 March 1955) and the 69th anniversary of National Disability and Sacrifice Day (21 March 1946).
At a lecture conducted at the President's Office on Thursday, the Head of the President's Office, Mr Phongsavath Boupha, recalled the establishment and growth of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the achievements recorded under its leadership.
He also recalled the suffering of the Lao people, especially what those in Thakhek district of Khammuan Province experienced 69 years ago when the French colonialists brutally killed Lao people and among them were many babies.
“It is not only a day that Lao people recall with fury against the foreign imperialists, but also the day when the people Lao and Vietnam embraced solidarity to fight against the foreign invaders without thought of surrender,” said Mr Phongsavath Boupha.
