(KPL) The Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the government, the Ministry of National Defence, the Lao Front for National Construction and the Viyaket family announced today the death of Comrade Lieutenant General Samane Viyaket, former member of the Politburo of the Party Central Committee and former President of the National Assembly and former Head of the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Training Board.

(KPL) The Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the government, the Ministry of National Defence, the Lao Front for National Construction and the Viyaket family announced today the death of Comrade Lieutenant General Samane Viyaket, former member of the Politburo of the Party Central Committee and former President of the National Assembly and former Head of the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Training Board.
Comrade Samane Viyaket who was also former Minister of Education and former Deputy Minister of National Defence died at 00.24 am on July 22, 2016 at the age of 89.
The Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the government, and the Lao Front for National Construction have decided to organize officially a cremation ceremony, and a three-day mourning ceremony on July 22-25, 2016.
Comrade Lt. Gen. Samane’s body is currently kept at the building of the National Assembly in Vientiane Capital. The cremation ceremony will be officially held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 13.00 pm at That Luang Ground, Vientiane Capital.
