Mrs. Lattana Sihalat, Chargé d’Affaires of the Lao PDR to Vietnam, attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd Son La Coffee Festival 2026 in Son La Province, northwestern Vietnam, on October 10.
(KPL) Held under the theme “Son La Arabica – Going Global,” the festival aims to promote the province’s Arabica coffee, expand market opportunities and strengthen the development of its coffee industry.
The event features a range of activities, including an exhibition entitled “Son La Coffee – Connecting Values, Sustainable Development,” the Son La Arabica Master Cup competition, a seminar on sustainable and ecological coffee production, and a business-matching conference for coffee products.
Other activities include the Son La Arabica Melodies concert, a “From Farm to Cup” coffee farm experience, a farmer skills competition, and cultural, tourism and promotional events.
Son La Province, known for its favourable climate and soil conditions, has developed Arabica coffee into one of its signature agricultural products. The crop plays an increasingly important role in local livelihoods and agricultural economic development.
The festival provides a platform for producers, businesses and other stakeholders to promote coffee products, exchange expertise and explore opportunities to expand into domestic and international markets.
