On 24 February 2026, at the Presidential Palace, the Vice President of the Lao PDR, Pany Yathortou, received a farewell call from Indonesian Ambassador to Laos Grata Endah Werdaningtyas, following the successful completion of her diplomatic tenure.
During the meeting, Vice President Pany extended a warm welcome and expressed her high appreciation for the Ambassador’s achievements throughout her mission.
She commended the Ambassador's active contribution to fostering and promoting the bilateral relationship between Laos and Indonesia.
The Vice President noted that the friendly ties and cooperation between the two nations have seen steady development across various sectors.
She specifically lauded the Ambassador’s proactive role over the past two years, which has overseen significant progress in high-level exchanges between the two governments, as well as in educational and economic cooperation. Furthermore, she noted that increased people-to-people exchanges have strengthened the bonds between the two populations, alongside continued mutual support within ASEAN and various international frameworks.
In response, Ambassador Grata Endah Werdaningtyas expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality provided by the Vice President and extended her thanks to the Government of the Lao PDR and all relevant sectors for their unwavering support and cooperation during her posting, which proved instrumental to the successful fulfilment of her diplomatic duties in the Lao PDR.
