The Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL), in cooperation with Happy Event Company, officially opened today the Lao Money Expo 2025 at the Lao-ITECC Mall on Monday under the theme “Money for Growth.”

The opening ceremony was attended by Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR, together with the Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, ministers, vice ministers, and representatives from banks and financial institutions. The event also marks the celebration of three historic days of the Lao PDR.
The seven-day expo, running until 21 December, aims to serve as a national platform for sharing knowledge and exchanging views on economic, financial and banking issues. It brings together public and private sector stakeholders, as well as international partners, to strengthen public understanding of macroeconomic management, financial institution services and financial technology development.

A total of 83 exhibition units are taking part, alongside daily panel discussions and expert forums on topics including digital assets in the Lao PDR, financial development trends over the next three to five years, green finance, banking readiness in the digital era, capital market development, government policies to support micro-enterprises and small-to-medium enterprises, financial literacy, consumer protection, and banknote quality assessment.
The expo also features youth competitions in finance and banking knowledge, mathematics and future financial planning, as well as cultural performances. Social activities include blood donation in support of the Lao Red Cross, while visitors can receive souvenirs and promotional items from participating institutions.
Organisers say the Lao Money Expo 2025 is expected to support the implementation of national monetary and financial sector development plans and contribute to sustainable socio-economic growth.
