The 2nd Future Economic Forum, co-hosted by Yonhap News Agency and the Korea-Africa Foundation, will be held in Seoul on Friday under the theme of "Rediscovering Africa: Leaping Forward Together with the Republic of Korea."
This year's forum, which comes about a week before the Group of 20 summit in South Africa, slated for Nov. 22-23, will explore ways to expand economic partnerships in key sectors, such as mineral resources, information and communications technology, health care and medical services, and K-beauty.
The forum will bring together officials of African diplomatic missions in Seoul, representatives of the Korea-Africa Foundation, and experts from academia and the private sector for discussions on the current economic landscape and future prospects of Africa, strategies for the Republic of Korea -Africa cooperation and key challenges.
Last year's inaugural forum highlighted the current status and challenges of the Republic of Korea's advanced tech industry, with a particular focus on semiconductors.
