(KPL) The National Organizing Committee for the 12th National Games continued the torch relay for the upcoming Vientiane Games 2025 on October 31, 2025, in Hadsayfong District, Vientiane Capital marking the sixth district to host the event following Sisattanak District.

The relay began at the PTT Gas Station and concluded at Vat Xiengkhuan in Hadsayfong District.

Mr. Manothong Vongsay, Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce and member of the National Organizing Committee, led the torch relay from the first point over a distance of 200 meters before passing the torch to Mr. Vongsavanh Xayavong, Vice Secretary of the Oudomxay Provincial Party Committee. The torch was then handed to Mr. Bounserd Setthilath, Vice Governor of Attapeu Province, and later to Mr. Thanongsine Sengphavong, Secretary of the Hadsayfong District Party Committee, who transferred it to representatives of the National Organizing Committee in Vientiane Capital.

Mr. Manothong stated that the ongoing torch relay serves to raise public awareness and mobilize communities, parents, and citizens of Vientiane Capital and the provinces to unite as gracious hosts for the upcoming Games. He emphasized that the relay symbolizes solidarity, friendship, and unity among leaders, athletes, and participants nationwide, while promoting sports and physical education — one of the five fundamental principles of national education.

The initiative aims to nurture outstanding athletes, build experience and strength, and enhance competitiveness to meet regional and international standards, in line with the Games’ motto: “Solidarity, Discipline, Transparency, Development.”

The next torch relay for the 12th National Games is scheduled for November 13, 2025, in Pakngum District, Vientiane Capital.
