On the morning of October 29, 2025, the high-level leadership of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Prime Minister Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, attended a condolence book signing ceremony at the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane to express grief over the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of the Kingdom of Thailand and mother of His Majesty King Rama X.

(KPL) On the morning of October 29, 2025, the high-level leadership of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Prime Minister Mr. Sonexay Siphandone, attended a condolence book signing ceremony at the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane to express grief over the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of the Kingdom of Thailand and mother of His Majesty King Rama X.
On this solemn occasion, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone laid a wreath and signed the condolence book, conveying the deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy of the Lao government and people. His message read:
“On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, I wish to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother of the Kingdom of Thailand.
The passing of Her Majesty is not only the loss of a ‘Great Mother,’ who was an inspiration and was deeply beloved, respected, and revered by the Thai nation, but also the loss of a close friend who demonstrated great virtue and kindness toward the Lao people.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, I wish to express my profound condolences and share in the grief of the Royal Family and the Thai people on this occasion.
May the spirit of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother rest in eternal peace.”
The participation of Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone reflected the Lao PDR’s deep respect and the enduring friendship between the Lao and Thai peoples, as well as the shared mourning for a revered and compassionate monarch.
