President Receives Thai Prime Minister

KPL On October 16, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, received a courtesy call from Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, and his delegation on the occasion of their official visit to the Lao PDR.

 

(KPL) On October 16, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, received a courtesy call from Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, and his delegation on the occasion of their official visit to the Lao PDR.

President Thongloun Sisoulith extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on his election as the 32nd Prime Minister of Thailand, and highly valued his decision to select the Lao PDR as the first country to visit following his assumption of office.

The President also congratulated the successful outcomes of the official bilateral talks held earlier between the two Prime Ministers, during which both sides reviewed the progress of past cooperation and discussed future directions to further strengthen and expand the bonds of friendship and good-neighborly relations between the two nations. The two countries reaffirmed their commitment to working as strategic partners for growth and sustainable development.

On this occasion, President Thongloun Sisoulith conveyed his warm greetings to His Majesty the King of Thailand, Her Majesty the Queen, and all members of the Royal Family, and expressed sincere appreciation for the continued support and assistance extended by the Thai Government and people, which have greatly contributed to the construction, development, and strengthening of the Lao PDR.

Both sides also exchanged views on the progress of bilateral cooperation in key areas such as economic development, trade, investment, tourism, transport connectivity, and border demarcation. The President emphasized the importance of continuing to promote the implementation of jointly signed projects to ensure tangible results, and to accelerate the completion of border survey and demarcation work in order to build a border of peace, friendship, and cooperation.

In response, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Lao leaders and people. He reaffirmed his commitment to further encourage relevant sectors of both countries to effectively implement cooperative projects and deepen the long-standing bonds of friendship and good cooperation between Thailand and Laos for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
