(KPL) Vientiane Mayor Adsaphangthong Siphandone, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 12th National Games, led a delegation to inspect the overall preparedness of the Km 16 Stadium in Vientiane Capital on October 13, 2025. The inspection aimed to ensure that all arrangements are completed on schedule and in an orderly manner ahead of the official opening of the 12th National Games on November 15, 2025.

During the visit, Mr. Adsaphangthong encouraged officials and urged all sub-committees to intensify their efforts to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of their assigned tasks. He called on the Opening and Closing Ceremony Sub-committee to make full use of the main stadium for rehearsals, finalize decorations, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness around the venue to ensure the event reflects the beauty, culture, and fine traditions of the Lao nation.

The Mayor also emphasized the importance of the Venue Sub-committee’s coordination with relevant sectors to complete improvements to competition venues, water and electricity systems, and lighting and floodlight installations. He instructed that VIP seating areas, the track and field grounds, and the central ceremony field be properly upgraded, and that backup generators be prepared to ensure continuous operation in case of emergencies.

In addition, he urged the Youth Camp Sub-committee to coordinate closely with the Venue Sub-committee to identify safe and suitable areas for displays and activities. The Protocol Sub-committee was directed to prepare layout plans and collaborate with relevant parties in arranging VIP reception rooms in harmony with the Decoration Sub-committee’s designs.

The Vientiane Mayor underlined the importance of close coordination among all sub-committees to ensure that every task is completed efficiently, the stadium is fully prepared, and the facilities are ready to host the grand opening of the 12th National Games on November 15, 2025.
