(KPL/Prensa Latina) The 17th edition of the US-Africa Business Summit concludes in Angola on Wednesday with several signed agreements and investment promises from the US business community in sectors such as energy and mineral resources.

After three days of panels, high-level exchanges, business roundtables, and exhibitions, more than 2,000 participants in the event ended the meeting in Luanda.

Angola signed on Tuesday three memoranda related to the strategic partnership for the implementation of silo terminals in the country, cooperation on cross-border projects, the integration of regional energy markets, and the export of clean energy.

The first instrument was signed between the Angolan Cargo and Logistics Certification Regulatory Agency (ARCCLA) and Amer-Con Corporation of the United States, to implement gradually the installation of 22 silo terminals for grain storage.

Meanwhile, the memorandum of cooperation on cross-border projects was signed among the Soapro SA Group of Angola, the US firm Hydro-Link, Khight Piesold Consulting Firm of South Africa, and the Windhoek Consulting Engineers LTD of Namibia.

This agreement focuses on establishing a partnership to design, implement, and oversee cross-border infrastructure projects between Angola and Namibia in the energy sectors, including regional electricity interconnection, transportation, roads, bridges, and railways.

The third memorandum of understanding was signed between the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water and Hydro-Link, to finance, build, and operate a 400-kilowatt high-voltage electricity interconnector between Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with a capacity of up to 1,200 megawatts.
