(KPL) Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam met with leaders of Lao media outlets and Vietnam News Agency (VNA) representative office in Vientiane on June 17 to enhance cooperation.

Ambassador Tam emphasized the meeting’s significance in exchanging media expertise, fostering mutual understanding, and reinforcing collaboration between the Vietnamese Embassy and local media authorities.

"This gathering marks an important step in deepening our partnership, from joint popularlisation initiatives to setting a unified tone in media communications," said Ambassador Tam.

Mr. Laopaoxong Navongxay, Deputy Director of the Party Central Committee Propaganda and Training Board, acknowledged Vietnam’s longstanding assistance in developing Lao media capabilities, including human resource training through short and long-term programmes, knowledge, skills, and technical support for Lao media development, and bilateral exchanges of delegations, expertise, and information under agreed cooperation plans.

He noted the close partnerships between Lao media organizations and their Vietnamese counterparts, including the collaborations between Pasaxon (Lao People’s Daily) and Nhân Dân (Vietnam’s People’s Daily), KPL (Lao News Agency) and VNA, Lao National Television and VTV, as well as Lao National Radio and VOV (Voice of Vietnam).

Recognition for Contributions

Vietnamese Foreign Minister’s Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Do Ba Thanh, a VNA correspondent in Laos, and Nguyen Ngoc Phuong, head of VTV Laos Office.

Ambassador’s Certificates of Appreciation were also presented to four Vietnamese media offices based in Vientiane, including VNA, Nhân Dân, VTV, and VOV in recognition of their contribution to strengthening the cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
