(KPL) During the 9th Ordinary Session of the 9th National Assembly, members expressed strong support for the government's ongoing efforts to drive socio-economic development. The 13th National Assembly District Committee praised the progress made so far and encouraged the government to build on these achievements by addressing remaining challenges in a focused and proactive manner.

Mr. Sanya Pasert, a representative from Savannakhet, highlighted the government’s steadfast commitment to navigating complex national issues. He commended its determination to lead, manage, and promote sustainable development, noting that the gradual improvement in the country’s economic situation reflects resilience and effective leadership.

Looking ahead, the Committee put forward several constructive recommendations to help accelerate further progress. Among them was a call to modernize the system for collecting service fees, ensuring it is both fair and aligned with current economic realities, such as exchange rate fluctuations and increased cross-border trade.

The Committee also stressed the need to protect farmers’ livelihoods by ensuring fair pricing for key agricultural products like rice, cassava, and corn. They proposed enhanced oversight of agricultural markets and reducing the influence of intermediaries, aiming to stabilize the domestic food supply and support rural communities.

Another key focus was on human capital development. While acknowledging ongoing government efforts, the Committee urged greater recognition and utilization of highly skilled professionals. Recommendations included offering competitive salaries and clearer career advancement opportunities to boost public sector performance and attract top talent.

These recommendations reflect a shared commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development reach all sectors of society. The feedback from the Savannakhet delegation not only underscores the achievements made but also signals strong momentum toward a more inclusive, prosperous, and resilient future.
