(KPL/VNA) Pasaxon e-newspaper, the official organ of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, on June 9 ran an article underscoring the necessity of a new era – one defined by national aspiration and the comprehensive development of the Vietnamese people.

According to the article, Vietnam is entering a new stage of development, marked by higher demands for quality, depth, and sustainability. Within this context, fostering a national aspiration for a prosperous nation and a happy, well-rounded citizenry has become not only a historical mission but also a fundamental driving force propelling the country into an era of the nation’s rise.

Vietnam’s history has repeatedly proven that in moments of hardship or opportunity, it is the unwavering patriotism, self-reliance, and indomitable spirit of its people that determine the nation's destiny.

Following decades of struggle for independence and adoption of "Doi moi" (renewal) policy, Vietnam finds itself at what the article terms a “golden moment.” This juncture is defined by a combination of modern strategic thinking by the Party, a stable and deeply integrated socio-economic foundation, a generation of well-educated and ambitious youth, a patriotic business and intellectual community at home and abroad, and a cultural identity that remains vibrant amid globalisation. These elements collectively form a historic opportunity for Vietnam to stride forward—focusing on nurturing modern citizens rich in intellect and cultural depth.

The article identifies the “era of national rise” as fundamentally different from previous periods, positioning it as a time for development led by intellect and innovation. Vietnam, it notes, cannot advance swiftly by relying on outdated methods. Instead, science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation must become the very DNA of the nation’s economy.

To realise the above-mentioned goal, Vietnam must implement a comprehensive strategy to unlock the potential of its people – its most precious resource. This includes reforming education and training, cultivating a generation of global citizens marked by character, creativity, service, and bold ambition. It is necessary to create an environment that nurtures intellectual and entrepreneurial capacity, the development of a knowledge-based and high-tech economy, and the promotion of humane and safe living conditions. Social welfare, healthcare, a green environment, and access to technology and information are deemed essential. At the heart of this effort lies a respect for labour, ethics, and dedication—foundational elements of a Vietnamese culture imbued with advancement and national identity.

The article affirmed that Vietnam, as it steps into a new era, has positioned itself as a developing country with a progressive mindset, deeply integrated into global structures while maintaining a distinct national identity. On the diplomatic front, the country continues to actively promote a united ASEAN Community, acting as a bridge between major global economies, and advancing peaceful, sustainable international relations. In terms of development cooperation, Vietnam pledges to champion global equality, share its development experience with transitional economies, and contribute to humanity’s shared progress.

Culturally, Vietnam brings to the world unique values – an image of a modern nation infused with humanism, resilience, and a steadfast spirit of peace. Globally, it is among the few developing nations bold enough to commit to carbon neutrality, sustainable energy transition, and proactive climate change responses.

The “era of national rise” is described not merely as a dream but as a solemn pledge – by the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam – to themselves and to the international community. On this path, the Vietnamese people, intellectuals, and culture will be the core forces shaping a new national strength – leading the country confidently into a future of prosperity, happiness, and enduring sustainability, the article stated.
