Lao Media Trained in AI Use for Journalism

KPL The United Nations conducted a training course on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in media and journalism for civil servants from various sectors in Vientiane on May 8. The training held both in person and online, aimed to enhance participants' ability to integrate AI tools into their professional work.

(KPL) The United Nations conducted a training course on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in media and journalism for civil servants from various sectors in Vientiane on May 8. The training held both in person and online, aimed to enhance participants' ability to integrate AI tools into their professional work.

Attendees were introduced to fundamental applications of AI technology, including generating reports, summarizing and analyzing data, writing emails, and producing both news and investigative stories. The course emphasized using AI to perform tasks more efficiently, accurately, and ethically in the digital media landscape.

Organized in collaboration with the Lao Media Association, the training also focused on equipping civil servants with modern skills to support their duties in the evolving media environment. Participants explored responsible content creation, ethical use of AI, and strategies for managing social media and digital platforms safely.
