(KPL) Phonhong District, Vientiane Province, April 23, 2025, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand joined Lao and Thai officials, including Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Vientiane Province Governor Khamphan Sitthidampha, and the Thai Ambassador to Laos, to inaugurate a newly built conference room at the Security Cultural School.
Lt. Gen. Kongthong Phongvichit, Deputy Minister of Public Security, outlined the school’s progress since its founding, noting it has produced 38 high school graduates and currently enrolls 618 students (264 female) across grades 6 and 7. The institution emphasizes hands-on learning, with students managing agricultural projects—including fish, poultry, livestock, and vegetable farming—to supply the school kitchen. Health initiatives, such as medical checkups and vaccinations, further support student well-being.

Since 1992, HRH Princess Sirindhorn’s project has funded critical infrastructure, including:
- Four dormitories, a learning building, and a student kitchen.
- Two computer labs with internet access and experimental equipment.
- Recent upgrades: a teacher’s office, a girls’ dormitory, modern teaching tools, and repairs to the drinking water facility.
- Eight scholarships for Lao students to pursue IT and forensic science degrees in Thailand (2025–2028).

Future plans include expanding infrastructure, upgrading roads linking Route 13 to the school, fortifying campus walls, and enhancing teacher training—particularly in math, languages, and arts—to improve educational quality.
“This school embodies the enduring partnership between Laos and Thailand,” said Lt. Gen. Kongthong, stressing its role in fostering skilled graduates and cross-border collaboration.
The event highlighted the Princess’s decades-long commitment to Lao education and bilateral ties, reinforcing the school’s mission to blend academic excellence with practical, sustainable skills.
