(KPL) On April 1, Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane signed the book of condolences for the victims of the recent earthquake in Myanmar.
A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, causing significant loss of life and extensive damage to property.

In his message signed at the Myanmar Embassy in Vientiane, the minister wrote: "On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, as well as on my own behalf, I extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Government and people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, especially to the bereaved families of the victims.
I am confident that under the strong leadership of the Government, the people of Myanmar will overcome this tragedy and swiftly restore normalcy to the affected areas."
