Attapeu Approves Private Sector for Forest Restoration in Nonghin Village

KPL The Attapeu provincial government has approved a forest restoration project in Nonghin Village, Sanamxay District, granting development rights to Suksavath Agriculture Development Sole Co., Ltd. The initiative aims to rehabilitate degraded forests by cultivating durian as a commercial crop on 99 hectares of land.

The initiative aims to rehabilitate degraded forests by cultivating durian as a commercial crop on 99 hectares of land.

A contract signing ceremony was held on March 24, 2025, at the Attapeu Provincial Department of Planning and Investment. The agreement was signed by Misay Sisavangsouk, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, and Phonsay Pinkeo, Director of Suksavath Agriculture Development Sole Co., Ltd., in the presence of relevant stakeholders.

The project is expected to boost sustainable agriculture, create jobs, and support green development efforts. Officials say it will also enhance Attapeu’s potential as a hub for agricultural exports in the future.
