(KPL) Meeting with leaders of Saravan Province on Jan 15, Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith urged provincial leaders to focus on addressing economic challenges and prioritize political and ideological education for officials and people of all ethnic groups, fostering their understanding and confidence in the Party’s leadership.

He also emphasized the importance of promoting agricultural production by providing more farming lessons and techniques to farmers, thereby strengthening their capacity.

President Thongloun stressed the need for proactive efforts in building an independent and self-reliant economy and increasing school enrollment among children of school age.

Saravan Province has experienced consistent economic growth, with its gross domestic product (GDP) reaching 8.48 trillion kip—an annual increase of 6.1%—according to Governor Daovong Phonekeo.

As part of efforts to develop an independent and self-reliant economy, local authorities have focused on promoting Napong grilled chicken by enhancing its quality and improving packaging so that it can be exported outside the province or event to neighboring countries.

The provincial authorities also prioritize addressing school dropout rates among primary and secondary students, improving the quality of teaching and learning, enhancing healthcare facilities, and strengthening the capacity of health workers.
