PM Sonexay visits China for 8th GMS Summit

KPL Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, accompanied by his spouse and delegation, arrived at Kunming Changshui International Airport, Yunnan, China

(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, accompanied by his spouse and delegation, arrived this morning at Kunming Changshui International Airport, Yunnan, China, where he was warmly welcomed by Liu Hongjian, Secretary of Kunming Municipal Party Committee, along with representatives from the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, the Lao Embassy in China, the Lao Consulate General in Kunming, and other relevant parties.
This visit to China, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, aims to participate in the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit, the 11th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit, and to chair the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, held in Kunming from November 6–7, 2024.
Following the summit, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone will visit Zhejiang and Shanghai from November 8–10, 2024. 
During this visit, the Prime Minister and his delegation will also visit several Chinese companies which are operating major investment projects in the Lao PDR and are pivotal in driving China’s economic initiatives.
