(KPL) The ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Executive
Committee convened in Vientiane today to discuss and approve the agenda for the
45th AIPA General Assembly.
The meeting was chaired by Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National
Assembly of Laos, and was attended by the AIPA Secretary General and
representatives from various stakeholders.
“This meeting is crucial for reaffirming our common commitment to promoting
parliamentary cooperation and fostering diplomacy within the AIPA family. Additionally,
we are striving to build a united and strong ASEAN Community in line with the
ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and our shared aspirations for the future,” said
Mr. Xaysomphone.
He further noted that the discussions would take place in a spirit of friendliness,
mutual respect, and shared vision for a stronger and more integrated ASEAN.
Mr. Xaysomphone called on participants to collaborate closely to ensure that
the 45th AIPA General Assembly serves as a fruitful forum, driving meaningful
change that benefits both the nation and the region.
