Head of PCC Commission for External Relations Welcomes New Vietnamese Ambassador

KPL On October 3, 2024, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane, a member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Commission for External Relations, welcomed the courtesy visit of Mr Nguyen Minh Tam, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Lao PDR.

(KPL) On October 3, 2024, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane, a member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Commission for External Relations, welcomed the courtesy visit of Mr Nguyen Minh Tam, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Lao PDR.

Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane expressed his appreciation for Mr Nguyen Minh Tam's appointment as the Ambassador of Vietnam to Laos, seeing it as a reflection of the trust and confidence placed in him by the Party, government, and people of Vietnam.

The appointment is also a testament to Mr Tam's commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, states, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

He expressed confidence that Mr Nguyen Minh Tam, with his experience and knowledge, will successfully fulfill his diplomatic duties in Laos.

Furthermore, he commended the significant, historical, and all-encompassing achievements of the Vietnamese people, under the clear-sighted leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which has resulted in political stability, national defense, societal order, continuous economic growth, and improving livelihoods of the people.

Vietnam’s growing influence and reputation in regional and international forums have also been greatly enhanced.

Mr Thongsavanh emphasized that the PCC Commission for External Relations will closely cooperate and coordinate with the Vietnamese Embassy in Vientiane to facilitate the ambassador's work and ensure smooth diplomatic activities.

In reply, the ambassador assured the host that he will do his utmost to serve as a secretary and coordinating closely with the PCC Commission for External Relations, as well as with relevant Lao ministries, organizations, and sectors, to strengthen the Lao-Vietnamese relations and cooperation thus bringing tangible benefits to the people of both nations.

Both sides highly value the cooperation and relations between the two Parties, states, and peoples of Laos and Vietnam, which have progressively deepened in all areas without interruption.

They also hold in high regard the successful outcomes of the Vietnam visit by Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao PDR, and the Lao-Vietnamese Politburo Meeting in Vietnam last month.

Both sides considered this of utmost importance and would continue to place the highest priority on further enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

They reaffirmed their commitment to jointly preserve, maintain, and expand these special relations for generations to come, contributing to the preservation of peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
