DPM Vilay Lakhamphong receives ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn

KPL Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security of Lao PDR, General Vilay Lakhamphong received a courtesy visit of the Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn at the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) for 2024 on August 28.

(KPL​) Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security of Lao PDR, General Vilay Lakhamphong received a courtesy visit of the Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn at the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) for 2024 on August 28.

At the meeting, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN stated, "Laos’ leadership in the ongoing review of priority cooperation areas will be pivotal in shaping collective efforts against transnational crime in the future. 

He said he looks forward to the discussions on this matter as it provides a timely opportunity to assess our achievements and draw inspiration for the road ahead."

Dr. Kao congratulated Lao PDR for the successful AMMTC Chairmanship and its deliverables. He also expressed the ASEAN Secretariat’s readiness to continue working closely with Lao PDR to advance law enforcement cooperation in combatting transnational crime, particularly in the implementation of practical activities and projects.
