Vientiane Welcomes Over 670,000 Visitors in the First Five Months

KPL (KPL) In the first five months of 2024, Vientiane saw an influx of over 670,000 tourists, marking a 26.31% increase compared to the same period last year.

(KPL) In the first five months of 2024, Vientiane saw an influx of over 670,000 tourists, marking a 26.31% increase compared to the same period last year. This was reported by Head of Vientiane Information, Culture and Tourism Department, Mrs. Viengphone Keokhounsy, on July 9.

Tourism-generated revenues for the entire society increased by 44.02% compared to the same period last year. Fifty-eight domestic and foreign investors have registered for investment in tourism sector in the capital city this year. These include 16 companies investing in accommodation services, 20 in food and beverage businesses, 16 in travel businesses, 2 in tourist attraction development, and 4 in massage and spa businesses.

In recent years, the Vientiane Department of Information, Culture and Tourism has been working with relevant parties to facilitate and promote the growth of tourism in the capital city. The government of Laos and the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism announced the launch of Visit Laos Year 2024 during the celebration of the 2023 That Luang Festival to promote the growth of the tourism industry.
