Drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam busted

KPL (KPL/VNA) Police in Tuong Duong district in the central province of Nghe An announced on June 8 that they had smashed a drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, detaining five Vietnamese suspects.

(KPL/VNA) Police in Tuong Duong district in the central province of Nghe An announced on June 8 that they had smashed a drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, detaining five Vietnamese suspects.

Police also seized 988 synthetic drug pills, 39.9 gram of heroin, nine self-made guns, 12 knives and one pepper spray.

The suspects, aged from 22 to 48 and residing in the district, were arrested on June 5 for allegedly involving in illegal drug trafficking.

Through investigation, police identified that the group regularly colluded with people in Laos to form an illegal drug trafficking network from Laos to Vietnam. Particularly, they had criminal and drug records, and were always armed to fight the authorities when detected.
