School in Laos commemorates President Ho Chi Minh

KPL (KPL/VNA) The Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual language school held a ceremony in Vientiane on May 17 to mark the 134th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890-2024).

(KPL/VNA)  The Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual language school held a ceremony in Vientiane on May 17 to mark the 134th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890-2024).

Addressing the event, Sivanheuang Phengkhammay, rector of the school expressed her gratitude to Uncle Ho's great contributions. She pledged that each staff and teacher will follow his moral example and style, improving the quality of teaching and learning, striving to complete the school year's tasks.

Pham Thi Tra Giang, a seventh grader, said that every year, the school organises a range of exciting activities on the occasion of Uncle Ho's birthday.

“I participate in all of these activities and feel very happy because I learn more about morality and lifestyle of Uncle Ho, who had many contributions and sacrificed his life for the nation, so that the young generation like us can live in peace, prosperity, and go to school," she said.

On the occasion, the school awarded certificates of merit and letters of gratitude to collectives and individuals who join the fund-raising campaign to support Truong Sa.

Earlier, school's staff and teachers have visited officers and soldiers of Truong Sa island district and presented 62 million VND (about 2,440 USD) worth of donations.
