(KPL) On Mar 27-29, a group of journalists from print and electronic media visited the mining and processing sites of Phu Bia Mining, a leading mining company in Laos, in Long Chaeng and Anouvong districts, Xaysomboun Province.
They were briefed about the company’s contribution to socio-economic development including human resource development, community development, clean agriculture and health as well as its mitigation of social and environmental impacts with the use of cutting-edge mining technologies.
Phu Bia Mining (PBM) launched its gold-silver open mine in Ban Houayxai in 2012 to feed ore to a conventional four million tonne carbon-in-leach recovery process plant.
Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operation, is one of two producing assets of Phu Bia Mining along with Phu Kham Copper Gold Operation. Both are located in the company’s 2,600-sqkm contract area.
