(KPL) DVV International Regional Office continues supporting the Department of Non-Education in Lao PDR.

Handover ceremony of aid package was held at the DVV International Regional Office on February 20 between the Department of Non- Education, in the presence of Minister of Education and Sports, Mr Phut Simmalavong and DVV International Regional Office Ms Annette Knobloch.

DVV International has invited the German Association for Adult Education to support the establishment of sustainable structures for adult education and lifelong learning, which the Department of Non-Education, Ministry of Education and Sports has been the main partner of DVV Internet for many years.

In the ceremony, DVV International and the Department of Non-Education reiterated their commitment to both parties and provided 1,500 notebooks, 750 sets of calendars and 300 copies of lifelong learning newsletters to the Department of Non-Education.

The German Association for Adult Education as a professional organization in the field of adult education and development has desired to support lifelong learning for more than 50 years in Lao PDR, DVV International has been cooperating with the Department of Non-Education since 2009.

      A high-level delegation led by Mrs. Daravone Kittiphanh, Vice Minister of Education and Sports (MoES) of Lao PDR , and Ms. Benita Sommerville, Deputy Ambassador at the Australian Embassy, visited Xiangkhouang Province from 10–12 December to review progress in improving teaching quality and promoting inclusive classroom practices. The visit highlighted the school-based Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system and the new Grade 1 Spoken Lao approach being implemented with Australian support through the BEQUAL program. The delegation observed how these two initiatives are beginning to transform teaching and learning across the country.
