Lao, Chinese health authorities boost cooperation in traditional medicine

KPL (KPL) Lao health authorities enhanced medical cooperation with China by opening the Lao-Chinese Medicine and Traditional Medicine Cooperation Center in Vientiane, Xinhua reported.

(KPL​) Lao health authorities enhanced medical cooperation with China by opening the Lao-Chinese Medicine and Traditional Medicine Cooperation Center in Vientiane, Xinhua reported.

The center will be a coordinating office for the exchange of information, planning, programs, research projects and the overall development of traditional medicine, Lao Economic Daily reported.

The center will provide training for medical and traditional medicine personnel in Laos, bolster cooperation between Laos and China in the field of traditional medicine, and encourage greater use and development of traditional remedies.

It is envisaged that the center will enhance research and develop more health services, with a focus on the use and provision of traditional medicine for ethnic groups, as well as contributing to the cultural and social development of Laos.
