The international Red Cross officials are on a working visit to Laos on Apr 20-25 to give advice on safe blood services to the staff of the National Blood Institute to help them prepare for AABB Fundamental Standard certification and improve blood related activities according to international standards.
AABB Fundamental Standards for Blood Collection and Transfusion provides a first step toward the implementation of a quality-systems-based approach for blood banks and transfusion services – and are made available at no charge, according to Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies.
Lao Red Cross President appreciated the guests for their efforts to promote blood donation to ensure adequate, safe and prompt supply of blood for patients in need in the country.
