(KPL) Lao Red Cross President Phouthone Meuangpak received last week Ms. Michelle Wsolak, International Secretariat Technical manager, Australian Red Cross Blood Service and Cheuk Kwong Lee, Regional Coordinator for Asia-Pacific, Global Advisory Panel on Corporate Governance and Risk Management of Blood Services in Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
(KPL) Lao Red Cross President Phouthone Meuangpak received last week Ms. Michelle Wsolak, International Secretariat Technical manager, Australian Red Cross Blood Service and Cheuk Kwong Lee, Regional Coordinator for Asia-Pacific, Global Advisory Panel on Corporate Governance and Risk Management of Blood Services in Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The international Red Cross officials are on a working visit to Laos on Apr 20-25 to give advice on safe blood services to the staff of the National Blood Institute to help them prepare for AABB Fundamental Standard certification and improve blood related activities according to international standards.
AABB Fundamental Standards for Blood Collection and Transfusion provides a first step toward the implementation of a quality-systems-based approach for blood banks and transfusion services – and are made available at no charge, according to Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies.
Lao Red Cross President appreciated the guests for their efforts to promote blood donation to ensure adequate, safe and prompt supply of blood for patients in need in the country.
