KPL (KPL) The 6th Vientiane International Half Marathon will be held in Vientiane on March 26 with an aim to raise awareness of exercise among local residents and improve Vientiane’s capability of holding major sport events.

(KPL) The 6th Vientiane International Half Marathon will be held in Vientiane on March 26 with an aim to raise awareness of exercise among local residents and improve Vientiane’s capability of holding major sport events.

A press conference on the sports event was held in Vientiane on March 15 in the presence of Vice President of the Lao National Olympic Committee Somphou Phongsa, Head of the Department of High-level Sports, Ministry of Education and Sports Chanthavong Phannasiri, and Vice-President of the Lao Athletics Federation Sithixay Sackpasert.

Marketing Manager of Beer Lao Co., Ltd (Tiger Drink) Khampasong Thongssmout, Director of Toyota Laos Co., Ltd Masaaki Kawabata, and Director of Events for Good Vanpheng Southichak also attended the meeting.

The purpose of this event is to promote healthiness, tourism in Laos and strengthen Vientiane’s capability of hosting international sports events, according to President of the Lao Athletics Federation Chandee Phommanood.

The 6th Vientiane International Half Marathon will include a half marathon - 21 KM, a quarter marathon -10.5 KM, and a fun run/walk - 5 KM.
