(KPL) Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to UNDP Anouparb Vongnorkeo has signed with Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Burundi to UNDP Zéphyrin Maniratanga an agreement to exempt holders of diplomatic and official passports of the two countries from visa.

(KPL) Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to UNDP Anouparb Vongnorkeo has signed with Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Burundi to UNDP Zéphyrin Maniratanga an agreement to exempt holders of diplomatic and official passports of the two countries from visa.
Signed late last month, the agreement aims to increase people-to-people exchange and promote the relations and cooperation between Laos and Burundi as the two countries established diplomatic ties on February 4, 2022.
The Republic of Burundi is a landlocked country in the Great Rift Valley at the junction between the African Great Lakes region and East Africa.
It borders Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east and southeast, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. Lake Tanganyika lies along its southwestern border. The capital city of Burundi is Bujumbura.
The Republic of Burundi has a land area of 27,834 sq km. It was admitted to membership in the United Nations – UN - on September 18. 1962.
