(KPL) The Lao News Agency (KPL) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the China Radio International (CRI) Vientiane Bureau agreed on 18 August to further strengthen their all around cooperation, especially in the fields of techniques and human resource development.

(KPL) The Lao News Agency (KPL) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the China Radio International (CRI) Vientiane Bureau agreed on 18 August to further strengthen their all around cooperation, especially in the fields of techniques and human resource development.
The statement was released during a working session held yesterday at the KPL headquarters between the Deputy Director of KPL Mr. Sinpaya Rattanavong and Mr. Meng Long, Manager of the Vientiane’s CRI office.
During the session, the sides informed each other of the development in their respective organizations, especially the working system of the CRI office in Vientiane and the cooperation between CRI and KPL during the past few years.
Mr. Meng Long expressed his appreciation to Mr. Sinpaya of KPL for providing accurate information on the socio-economic development in Laos to CRI and asked that KPL send staff members to help CRI to correct its Lao articles at the CRI headquarters in Beijing in the future.
Mr. Meng Long also confirmed to help KPL to reproduce KPL articles in many other languages including Chinese for world listeners. CRI intends to invite KPL correspondents to work with CRI staff in China.
CRI has 25 staff for its Lao department including three at its Vientiane Bureau. The priority work of CRI in Laos is to promote cooperation between Laos and China and between ASEAN members and China in covering disaster issues.
The session was a part of activities being held to mark the 65th Anniversary of Media and Publication Day in Laos.
