(KPL) The Lao-Japanese Agriculture Development Company has invested US$3 million to build a modern slaughter house and dairy factory on an area of 200 ha in Xieng Khuang.
The company is in the process of clearing land for a grass plantation. The company then plans to build a farm and factory and import several varieties of cows. The output of the factory will include beef, dairy products, cheese, yogurt, which will be exported along with organic vegetables and fruit to Japan and neighboring countries, according to the manager of the company Mr Imohi.

The company is also seeking partnerships from other Japanese and Australian companies to invest in the agricultural sector in Xieng Khuang.
On August 11, the Governor of Xieng Khuang Somkot Mangnormek visited the project. The governor congratulated the Lao-Japanese Agriculture Development Company on the progress it has made and intends to persuade other foreign companies to invest in Xieng Khuang.
