(KPL) The Lao Brewery Company (Beerlao) has provided 300 scholarships worth over 800 million kip to underprivileged students to pursue their education at the National University of Laos, its affiliates, and the National Institute of Fine Arts (NIFA) for the academic year 2014-2015.

(KPL) The Lao Brewery Company (Beerlao) has provided 300 scholarships worth over 800 million kip to underprivileged students to pursue their education at the National University of Laos, its affiliates, and the National Institute of Fine Arts (NIFA) for the academic year 2014-2015.
The Beerlao scholarship targets students with good study habits that are from poor families, are orphans, or possess other good attributes.
The handover ceremony of the scholarships took place on 15 October at the Lao Brewery Company headquarters in Vientiane Capital and was attended by the Lao Brewery Company Managing Director, Mr Kissana Vongsay, Vice President of International Relations and Student Affairs of the National University of Laos, Somsy Gnophanxay, Deputy Director of NIFA, Mr Sython Dimark, and teachers and students.
"The scholarship aims to promote human resource development by supporting good students and providing opportunities for them to enrich their knowledge and apply their learned lessons to develop their families and communities," said Mr Kissana.
The Lao Brewery Company launched its scholarship program in 2010 targeting students of the National University of Laos and its affiliates including Souphanouvong University (Luang Prabang), Champassak University, Savannakhet University, and the National Institute of Fine Arts.
Last year the company provided more than 200 scholarships worth almost 2 billion kip to students of tertiary educational institutes.
