KPL (KPL) U-Kiss, a boy idol group of the Republic of Korea staged a concert with other popular singers on Tuesday night in Vientiane attracting a crowded audience.

(KPL) U-Kiss, a boy idol group of the Republic of Korea staged a concert with other popular singers on Tuesday night in Vientiane attracting a crowded audience.

U-Kiss staged the concert Korea Dream 2014 at National Convention Centre along with "Laboum", idol girl group, rising star Lim Ho, Chang Mihwa and opera singer Chai Songhwa.

U-KISS is a seven-member South Korean boy band founded by NH Media in 2008. U-KISS includes Kevin Woo, Shin Soohyun, Lee Kiseop, Eli Kim, Shin Dongho, Aj and Hoon. U-KISS stands for Ubiquitous Korean International (Idol) Super Star.

The purpose of the concert was to enhance cultural exchange between the two nations through K-pop stars.

The concert is a follow-up to "Fairy tale book support activities"which were conducted by Korea-Asia Friendship Foundation, KOTRA and KOLAO in July this year.

"Year 2014 has also seen active cooperation between Korea and Lao PDR in the frameworks of the ROK and Mekong regional countries,"said Chairman of the Korea-Asia Friendship Foundation, Mr Choi Jae-sung.

“Particularly, the 4th ROK-Mekong Foreign Minister's Meeting was held in Seoul in July this year and the Mekong-RoK Plan of Action was adopted by the participating ministers,"said Mr Choi Jae-sung.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Dialogue Partnership between the ROK and ASEAN.
Nam Phon and GB2 Lao’s top stars were special guests at the concert. Their show expressed the friendship and appreciation to the Korean singers and stars for their long way trip to Laos.

Vientiane Mayor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Savankhone Razmountry, Republic of Korea Ambassador to Laos, Mr Kim Soo-kwon, Chairman of the KOLAO Group, Mr Oh Sei-young, President of Chonnam National University, Mr Jee Byung-moon, diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations attended the concert.

"This is the first time to join the Korea concert tonight, which is amazing to me and my friends to see such a huge audience," said Mr Han Lengsavat, a student at Liaoto Secondary School.
