(KPL) The local authorities of Xayaboury Province will select five elephants for its celebration of World Food Day and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty which will be held on 15 October at the Xayaboury Provincial Square.
(KPL) The local authorities of Xayaboury Province will select five elephants for its celebration of World Food Day and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty which will be held on 15 October at the Xayaboury Provincial Square.
Mr Khamla Pheuw, Head of Agriculture and Forestry sector of Xayaboury Province said on 5 October that the celebration of World Food Day and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is being jointly organized by the Agriculture and Forestry sector of Xayaboury Province and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Preparations are currently underway and seven sub-committees have been appointed for various tasks including welcoming guests, providing security, cleaning, designing and decorating the stage, preparing the performance area, and the performance of the five elephants.
Mr Khamla Pheuw said that the celebration would feature a trade fair where 170 business units from 12 provinces and the capital would display goods ranging from agricultural produce, to furniture and handicrafts among others.
There will also be a traditional food competition.
