The Sky Telecom State Company was established in Laos on 7 June 2011. Skytel aims to be the leading provider of telecommunications including high speed internet, and voice and data communication services for the Government, public organisations, telecommunication operators, NGOs and SMEs, said the General Director of Sky Telecom State Company, Mr Khamkhith Saysongkham at the launching ceremony at its headquartres in Vientiane Capital last Friday.
He said, “We develop secure end to end solutions to meet the needs of todays complex communication environment, and through the integration of IP-based telecommunications and cutting–edge software applications, deliver economic communication solutions that leverage broadband networks.”
The Lao National Transmission Network was established as a centralized telecommunication and information infrastructure in order to develop and promote the ICT sector in Laos.
“We aim to provide our services to the government, public, and transit sector in Laos as well as neighboring countries,” Mr Khamkhith.
At the present, we have cross-border interconnection points with China, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
“With innovative and high-tech transmission systems and by using nationwide buried a fiber optic backbone network, we are committed to providing our customers services with high security, stability and reliability,” he went on.
Mr Khamkhith said, “Sky Telecom has 117 service centres in Vientiane Capital and 16 provinces.
SkyTel provides a high-speed internet IP data network and an internet connecting with three countries including China, Vietnam and Thailand by using mobile phone 4G-Wifi, FTTX, Fiber, ADSL and IDC.
The opening ceremony for the Head Office of the Sky Telecom State Company was held last Friday in Saylom Village, Chanthaboury district, Vientiane Capital.
