KPL Beyond its modern urban landscape, Ganzhou offers visitors a fascinating journey into China's rich history through the Jiangnan Songcheng Historical and Cultural Tourism Zone, a destination where ancient architecture, literary heritage and traditional culture come together.

Known as the historic Song City of Jiangnan, Ganzhou preserves a remarkable collection of ancient streets, traditional buildings and cultural landmarks that reflect centuries of Chinese civilisation. The tourism zone brings together several historic neighbourhoods, including Yugutai, Zao'er Lane, Nanshi Street, Yao Yaqian and Ciguling, creating an immersive experience for visitors interested in exploring the city's historical character.
Among the area's most significant attractions are the ancient city wall, Bajing Terrace and Yugu Terrace. These landmarks provide valuable insights into traditional Chinese architecture, urban development and the cultural traditions that shaped historic communities.
One particularly fascinating site is Yugu Terrace, which holds an important place in Chinese literary history. It is closely associated with Xin Qiji, the celebrated poet of the Song Dynasty, whose works vividly expressed the emotions, landscapes and historical spirit of the region. His literary legacy continues to connect modern visitors with the cultural and intellectual traditions of ancient China.
Another highlight is Bajing Terrace, a landmark that reflects Ganzhou's historical identity and its enduring relationship with Chinese literature and traditional city planning. Together, these attractions reveal how architecture, literature and local history have shaped the city's distinctive cultural landscape.
The preservation of Jiangnan Songcheng demonstrates that historical destinations are more than tourism attractions. They are living cultural resources that support education, historical research, heritage conservation and international cultural exchange.
For international visitors, exploring Ganzhou also offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of China's historical development and the importance of preserving cultural identity in an increasingly interconnected world.
This spirit of cultural discovery and international exchange resonates with the objectives of the Seminar on International Communication Capacity Building and Network Media for Belt and Road Countries, which has brought together 71 participants from 16 countries in Beijing.
The international programme aims to strengthen digital communication capabilities, encourage media collaboration and promote closer people-to-people connections among participating countries.
Organised by the International Cooperation Department of China's National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) and hosted by China Broadcasting International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. (CBIC), the seminar provides a platform for participants to exchange knowledge, share professional experiences and explore new opportunities for cooperation in the rapidly evolving media landscape.
As media professionals and representatives from different countries come together, destinations such as Jiangnan Songcheng offer meaningful examples of how cultural heritage can become a bridge between nations.
Through storytelling, digital media and international cooperation, the history of Ganzhou can reach audiences far beyond China's borders, allowing more people to appreciate its ancient streets, architectural treasures and literary traditions.
Ultimately, the journey through Jiangnan Songcheng is not simply an exploration of the past. It is an opportunity to understand how cultural heritage can inspire dialogue, strengthen international friendships and build connections between people from different backgrounds.
From the ancient poetry of Xin Qiji to today's international media partnerships, Ganzhou tells a story of heritage, communication and cultural connection that continues to resonate across generations and borders.
