President of the Lao National Assembly Sonexay Siphandone and his spouse, Vandara Siphandone, arrived in Hanoi on November 2 for a four-day official visit to Vietnam, scheduled for November 2-5.
The visit is being made at the invitation of President of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and his spouse.
The Lao delegation was welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Vietnamese National Assembly Vice President Nguyen Doan Anh, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defence, Security and Foreign Affairs Sen. Lieut. Gen. Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Hoang Long and other officials.
The visit aims to further strengthen the longstanding great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership between Laos and Vietnam, particularly ties between the two countries' legislative bodies.
It will also provide an opportunity for the two sides to exchange views on strengthening relations between their Parties, States and peoples, expanding bilateral cooperation and promoting practical outcomes in areas of mutual interest.
The visit reflects the shared commitment of Laos and Vietnam to maintaining their close relationship and deepening cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples.
