Lao and Chinese officials on September 29 inaugurated the Joint Aviation Training and Support Center at Ban Keun Airport, along with the Laos-China Friendship Aviation College, marking a new step in military aviation cooperation between the two countries.
(KPL) The ceremony was attended by General Khamlieng Outhakaysone, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of the Lao PDR, and a delegation from the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
During the ceremony, senior officials from both sides jointly unveiled a commemorative stone plaque and delivered speeches highlighting the project as a practical outcome of Laos-China cooperation based on mutual respect, equality and coordination.
The center and college are intended to support and enhance the training and practical skills of Lao military pilots, while strengthening human resource development in aviation.
Both sides expressed their commitment to further expand cooperation through joint training and exercises, human resource development, humanitarian assistance and other areas, while continuing to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two militaries and contributing to regional security and stability.
