On August 27, 2026, Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, sent a message of condolence to Mr. C.C. Khanan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, following a natural disaster that struck Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts on August 26.
(KPL) On August 27, 2026, Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, sent a message of condolence to Mr. C.C. Khanan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, following a natural disaster that struck Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts on August 26.
In his message, Mr. Thongsavanh expressed deep sadness over the disaster, which caused significant loss of life and property among local residents.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao PDR, as well as in his own name, he conveyed his deepest sympathy and condolences to the Government and people of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, particularly the families of those who lost their lives and all those affected by the disaster.
Mr. Thongsavanh expressed confidence that, under the leadership and close attention of the Nepalese Government, the people of Nepal will overcome the difficulties and affected areas will be restored to normal conditions as soon as possible.
