(KPL) The Commission for External Relations of the Central Committee held a formal ceremony on May 5, 2026, to announce organizational restructuring and the appointment of executive-level officials.
The ceremony was presided over by Bounleua Phandanouvong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Head of the CERCC. Attendees included senior CERCC officials, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and staff members.
Key Appointments Announced
During the event, the Department of Personnel and Organization presented resolutions of the Party Central Committee Secretariat confirming several senior appointments.
Bounyadeth Xayavong, formerly Head of the CERCC Office, was appointed Director General of the Department of Research and Multilateral Relations under Resolution No. 51/PCCS, dated March 31, 2026.
Singhanakhone Sihalath was appointed Head of the CERCC Office under Resolution No. 52/PCCS, dated March 31, 2026.
Vongkham Saensathid was appointed Director General of the Department of Europe-America under Resolution No. 53/PCCS, dated March 31, 2026.
Souksavan Keovilayvan was appointed Acting Director General of the Department of Personnel and Organization under Decision No. 848/CERCC.PO, dated April 30, 2026.
The ceremony also featured an official handover between outgoing and incoming heads of the CERCC Office.
Leadership Emphasizes Capacity and Unity
In his remarks, Bounleua expressed appreciation for the newly appointed officials, stating that the appointments reflect the trust and confidence of both senior leadership and CERCC personnel.
He noted that the restructuring aims to strengthen the committee’s operational capacity, ensure effective implementation of Party and State policies in line with the CERCC’s 3rd Five-Year Plan, and achieve all designated targets.
In closing, he urged the newly appointed leaders to uphold a strong sense of political responsibility, serve as role models, and act as key pillars in maintaining unity and solidarity within the organization.
